Summer is filled with fun, longer days, and holiday time for everyone. The few days that we get during Summers must be planned well for a thrilling adventure to escape the scorching heat of the plains. We are blessed to be born in India as this country has a geographical advantage of mountains, hills, beaches, exotic forest and other places to visit in summers. Some of the most adventurous places to visit in India during Summers are as follows:-
1). Kullu Manali – one of the most beautiful summer destinations is Kullu Manali in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is well connected by road from Delhi and is at a distance of about 546 km. Manali is screne, lush green and has snow capped mountains and an amazingly rich flora and fauna. Things to do in Manali – indulge in a number of adventurous sports at solang valley like paragliding, zorbing, quad, biking and many others. Head to Rohtang pass to play in the snow in summer. Explore kullu and it’s orchids if you have more time.
2).Shimla– Shimla a very well known hill station in northern India and is one of the most famous summer spots .It has a rich ancient British elegance still prevalent in its building and churches. The best time to visit would be May and June. Shimla is well connected by road ,rail and Air. You would at least need four to five days to completely enjoy the adventure in and around Shimla. Things to do and places to visit in Shimla are the Mall road, best hanging place for tourists. If you have a fetish for polo then Stop over at Amanda la which is about 4 km from the ridge. There is horse riding, go carting, paragliding etc.
3).Ladakh– A perfect summer vacation place in India, every biker’s dream vacation. The most famous Buddhist monasteries in India such as the Thiksey monastery add vibrant hues to the panorama. Ladakh can be reached by train from Jammu being the closest railhead. Leh airport is very well connected to Delhi. Things to do in Ladakh:-Enjoy the purity sheer serenity besides the emerald Pan gong Tso lake. You must visit the Nubra valley and take the camel rides through the sand dunes of Nubra valley.
4).Auli– The coolest place in India. It is a popular skiing destination for Indian winter as well as summer. The snow capped mountain peaks and green pastures are breath taking .Auli is about 500 km by road from Delhi and the nearest airport is Jolly Grant in Dehradun. Ideal duration is from 2 to 3 days. Things to do in Auli:- Auli has a three km long slope and a 500 metro long skilift. A total Himalayan experience.
5).Bandhavgarh– Bandhavgarh in Madhya Pradesh “The heart of India”, reverberates with the roar of the Royal Bengal Tiger. Bandhavgarh offers the most thrilling wildlife Safari. There are high chances of spotting a tiger there. An elephant ride is also going to give you thrills. The nearest airport to Bandhavgarh is Jabalpur. Bandhav vilas and Arnayak resorts are the two most recommended places to stay.
6).Darjeeling– Darjeeling situated in west Bengal is one of the most popular summer holiday getaways in the North east. The town has a beautiful landscape and the inhabitants are so loving and hospitable. Must watch places in Darjeeling are the Tibetan monasteries. The Toy train ride, watch the majestic sunrise from Tiger Hill ,You must explore the famous tea gardens. The trek to the peaceful Pagoda at charlemont hill, explore the wildlife at Padmaja Naidu zoological park.
7).Munnar– When the heat in northern India is rising, Munnar settled in the lush lap of western ghats is a pleasant escape when the heat goes rising. Munnar has the lush green surroundings of tea gardens. You must visit kundala lake, echo point. A true house stay is fantastic, Trekking to the Echo point mountain biking, elephant safari at the carmelagiri elephant park. Munnar in kerala is sure to give you the feel of God’s own country.
8).Srinagar– Srinagar the capital city of Kashmir also known as the Switzerland of India. Srinagar is Well connected by road, air and rail. The weather is very pleasant here during summer months. Best places to visit are Tulip garden, wular lake, Nagin lake, Shalimar bagh, Pari Mahal, Nehru gardens etc. you will be relaxed and close to nature in Srinagar.
9).Kasauli– A small hill station in Himachal Pradesh is about 77 km from Shimla and 35 km from kalka. It is surrounded by a thick pine , Himalayan oak, huge horse chestnuts and pine forest. Best places to visit in kasauli are Baptist Church, Mall road, Monkey point, Christ Anglican Church, Timber Trail , sunset point and lovers lane. It is a small and quiet town a very good place to be visited during the unbearable summer.
10).Mussoorie– It is an ancient hill station . Very popularly known as the queen of the hills. It is well connected by road, air and train There are a good number of hostels and food joints in the town. It is about at the distance of 289 km and approximately takes about 7 hours to reach the place from Delhi. Places to visit in Mussoorie are Benog wildlife sanctuary, clouds end, camels back road, company garden, Dhanaulti, gun hill, lal Tibba, Kempty falls etc .
